The construction of the Besuki - Situbondo Toll Road has an impact on changing the movement pattern of vehicles from Pantura road to the toll road. This condition has the potential to reduce the economic activities of seafood culinary business actors who have been developing along the coast of Situbondo. In addition, Situbondo Regency has a considerable potential for fisheries and seafood culinary , so facilities are needed that can connect transportation activities with the development of local regional potential. Based on these conditions, a Besuki – Situbondo Toll Rest Area Integrated Pantura Line with an Organic Architecture Approach and Seafood Culinary Facilities is designed. This design aims to present a rest area that not only functions as a resting place for toll road and pantura road users, but also becomes a stopover space that is able to introduce the identity of the Situbondo coast through seafood culinary facilities and local community products.
"Coastal Culinary Gateway: Seafood and Local Products Culinary Coastal Gateway" is the theme of the design. This theme is realized through the Organic Architecture approach that emphasizes the harmonious relationship between buildings, people, and the environment. The approach is applied by presenting open spaces, natural ventilation, flowing indoor and outdoor space relationships, and the use of materials that are in harmony with the character of Situbondo.
The design concept is directed at the creation of a transit area that connects toll road users and Pantura roads through an integrated accessibility system. Through this design, the rest area is expected to be able to act as a center for culinary-based local economic development that is comfortable, recreative, and in harmony with the identity of Situbondo Regency.
