Abstract

Ilmu dan teknologi bahan, disatu sisi menuntut adanya ketersediaan bahan dengan persyaratan-persyaratan khusus,disisi lain pemakaian atau pemanfaatan teknologi menuntut penyesuaian. Tujuan Penelitian Untuk mengetahuiperubahan yang terjadi pada aluminium torak sebelum dan sesudah penambahan unsur silikon (Si), ditinjau darisifat kekerasan dan kekuatan tarik Kekerasan yang dihasilkan dari seluruh percobaan dengan variasi persentasepenambahan unsur silikon (Si) mulai dari 0.8%, 1%, dan 1,5% terjadi peningkatan. Kekuatan Tarik yang dihasilkandari seluruh percobaan dengan variasi persentase penambahan unsur silikon (Si) mulai dari 0.8%, 1%, dan 1,5%juga terjadi peningkatan
