Turbin air merupakan mesin konversi energi yang mengubah energi potensial air diubah menjadi energi mekanis. Pengkonversian energi yang dilakukan oleh turbin air tersebut dapat dilakukan secara implus yang diwakili turbin air jenis Pelton. Dimana proses impuls yang terjadi pada turbin air Pelton yaitu dengan mengubah seluruh potensi energi air (potensial, kecepatan dan tekanan) yang tersedia diubah menjadi energi kinetik yang memutar tubin untuk menghasilkan energi putar. Guna memaksimalkan dan mengotomatisasi perencanaan turbin air jenis Pelton maka dalam penelitian ini digunakan perangkat lunak TURBNPRO 3. Perangkat lunak TURBNPRO 3 memfasilitasi perancang untuk melakukan berbagai macam pemodelan sehingga didapatkan kondisi maksimal sesuai dengan kondisi di lapangan. Di samping itu dengan menggunakan perangkat lunak ini maka perancang juga bisa langsung mendapatkan dimensi serta grafik jangkauan kerja dari turbin yang dirancang.References
