2. Editorial Independence

The ownership structure and management of MLJ Merdeka Law Journal are strictly separated from the editorial decision-making process.

  • The Publisher and Managing Body provide technical, administrative, and financial support for journal operations but do not interfere with editorial decisions.

  • The Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Board have full authority and independence over the acceptance, revision, or rejection of submitted manuscripts based solely on academic merit, peer-review evaluations, and alignment with the journal's focus and scope.

The day-to-day operations of MLJ Merdeka Law Journal are managed by a dedicated team consisting of:

  • Editor-in-Chief: Coordinates overall editorial strategy, manuscript assignments, and final publication decisions.

  • Editorial Board: Conducts initial screenings, manages double-blind peer-review processes, and ensures high scientific quality.

  • Managing / Technical Editors: Handles system administration (Open Journal Systems), layout formatting, DOI assignment, and metadata indexing.
