Post-Publication Discussion

AFRE (Accounting and Financial Review) encourages post-publication discussion to foster scientific dialogue, transparency, and academic debate. We welcome constructive criticism, comments, and inquiries regarding articles published in the journal to ensure the ongoing integrity and quality of published research.

Submission of Comments and Letters to the Editor

  • Readers, researchers, and practitioners may submit formal comments, re-analyses, or inquiries regarding published articles by contacting the Editorial Team at [email protected].
  • Submissions must be concise, objective, polite, and directly focused on the scholarly content, methodology, data, or interpretation presented in the original paper.
  • Personal attacks, unsubstantiated claims, or inappropriate language will not be tolerated.

Editorial Process and Author Right of Reply

  1. Initial Assessment: The Editor-in-Chief evaluates the submitted comment or letter to determine its academic relevance and validity.
  2. Author Response: If accepted for consideration, the original author(s) of the paper will be notified and invited to provide a formal response (Author Reply) within 14–21 working days.
  3. Peer Review: Both the submitted comment and the authors' response may undergo independent peer review to ensure scientific accuracy and fairness.
  4. Publication: If approved, the comment and the authors' reply are published together in a subsequent issue of AFRE as a Letter to the Editor or Matters Arising, directly linked to the original publication.

Corrections, Addenda, and Retractions

When post-publication discussions reveal significant errors or omissions:

  • Corrigendum / Addendum Issued if honest errors (e.g., typographical errors, minor calculation mistakes) or necessary supplementary details do not invalidate the overall scientific conclusions of the article.
  • Expression of Concern or Retraction Triggered if post-publication scrutiny uncovers major methodological flaws, irreproducible results, or unethical research practices, in accordance with COPE Guidelines.
