Dental records are an important source of antemortem data in support of individual identification. Community dental outreach has potential as a point for collecting and updating dental data, but documentation needs to be structured so that information can be reused. This study evaluated an enhanced Telegram Bot prototype that integrates structured data with a visual odontogram and is intended for student-assisted documentation in community dental services. A quasi-experimental comparative study with a nonrandomized repeated-measures within-subject design was conducted. A total of 244 active undergraduate dental students were included. Each participant completed conventional dental records and the Telegram Bot using two different simulated patient datasets. The outcome represented end-to-end task completion time from the user perspective. Mean data-entry time was 149.41 ± 17.81 seconds for the Telegram Bot and 225.27 ± 17.81 seconds for conventional records. Mean retrieval time was 6.72 ± 5.86 seconds and 21.72 ± 5.86 seconds, respectively. Paired sample t-tests showed significant differences for data entry (Manual−Bot difference 75.86 seconds; 95% CI 73.73–77.99; t(243)=70.13; p<0.001; Cohen's dz=4.49) and retrieval (15.00 seconds; 95% CI 14.43–15.57; t(243)=51.62; p<0.001; Cohen's dz=3.30). The Telegram Bot demonstrated better time efficiency and may serve as a prototype for initial dental data documentation in community outreach, but the findings do not establish improved identification accuracy or readiness as a clinical electronic health record.
