Journal History

The Composite: Journal of Civil Engineering is a scientific periodical publication managed by the Civil Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Merdeka Malang. This journal publishes various research findings in civil engineering and is issued twice a year, in June and December. The first edition was published in June 2022.

Although this journal is relatively new, the editorial team is committed to maintaining high publication standards and striving to establish it as a primary reference in civil engineering. One of the main objectives is to achieve SINTA accreditation as a national journal, which will be attained through systematic and strategic development.

To support this goal, the editorial team invites academics, researchers, and practitioners in civil engineering to submit high-quality research articles. By implementing a rigorous peer-review process and upholding publication ethics, The Composite: Journal of Civil Engineering aspires to become a leading reference in the field.

In early 2025, specifically from February to March, The Composite: Journal of Civil Engineering transitioned from Open Journal Systems (OJS) 2 to Open Journal Systems (OJS) 3.3.0.19. This upgrade was necessary to improve system security, increase workflow efficiency, and provide better accessibility features. The transition to OJS 3.3.0.19 brings a more user-friendly interface, more efficient manuscript management, and compliance with modern publishing standards, improving the overall experience for authors, reviewers, and readers.
