Implementasi Undang-Undang Disabilitas dalam Pemenuhan Hak Kerja Penyandang Disabilitas

This study aims to analyze the extent to which Law Number 8 of 2016 concerning Persons with Disabilities has been implemented in fulfilling the employment rights of persons with disabilities. The focus of the study is on the implementation of Article 143 letter q which guarantees the right to be free from discrimination, neglect, torture, and exploitation. Findings in the field indicate that persons with disabilities have not fully obtained their rights, both in access to employment and to adequate public facilities. There are still many obstacles faced, including a lack of public awareness and low commitment from business actors to inclusivity. Data were obtained through interviews with persons with disabilities who work and local government officials related to employment. This study uses an empirical legal method with a sociological juridical approach to understand the relationship between legal norms and social practices. The results show the need to strengthen public education and government supervision, as well as the provision of adequate accessibility facilities. Enforcement of disability rights must be a priority so that the principle of equality can be realized concretely.
