Abstract

The traditional village of Tenganan Pegringsingan Bali, cannot be separated from customs and habits in conducting social relations and refers to the awig-awig which are the basic rules about the order of a community life, namely the relationship between humans and humans, humans and the environment and humans and their God. Acts that violate customary rules can affect the disruption of balance either in real or in real terms, so that violators are subject to sanctions, with the aim that the balance can be restored. This study aims, among others, (1) To find out how to classify customary violations in Tenganan Village. (2) To find out how to classify sanctions for customary violations in the Tenganan Village community. This study is a sociological legal research (empirical legal research). The approach used is a descriptive-analytical approach. The types of data used are primary data and secondary data. The data collection technique is by interview. The results of the study show that in Tenganan village there is a classification of customary violations and forms of sanctions contained in the awig-awig, and it is very effective, because it is a principle that has been agreed upon as a rule from generation to generation, in order to achieve true harmony in life.
