Post-Publication Discussion
Jurnal Teknologi dan Manajemen Informatika (JTMI) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and permanence of the scholarly record. We encourage constructive post-publication academic discussion and provide clear mechanisms for handling scientific feedback, corrections, and retractions.
1. Post-Publication Discussion and Enquiries
JTMI does not host an open public forum or online comment section. Instead, formal academic discussions, inquiries, or constructive criticism regarding published articles are handled via official email correspondence.
-
Submitting Feedback: Readers, authors, or researchers may submit formal scientific inquiries or comments regarding a published paper by emailing the Editor-in-Chief at [email protected].
-
Editorial Review: Submitted feedback will be reviewed by the Editorial Board to assess its scientific validity and relevance.
-
Author Right of Reply: If a submitted query raises substantial scientific points, the Editorial Board will forward the comment to the corresponding author of the original paper, inviting them to provide a formal response or clarification.
-
Publication of Correspondence: If deemed beneficial to the scientific community, the formal commentary and the authors' response may be published in a subsequent issue as a "Letter to the Editor" or "Comment/Reply" paper.
2. Corrections to Published Work
When errors are identified in published articles, JTMI takes prompt action to correct the public record transparently:
-
Corrigendum (Author Errors): Published if an important error made by the authors (e.g., mislabeled figure/table, missing grant disclosure, or minor calculation error) needs correction without invalidating the paper's conclusions.
-
Erratum (Publisher Errors): Published if a significant error was introduced by the journal team during copyediting, typesetting, or layout production.
-
Addendum: Published to add crucial supplementary information or explanation that completes the original article.
In all cases, a formal correction notice will be published, linked directly to the original article, and made freely accessible.
3. Retractions and Expressions of Concern
In cases of serious scientific errors, misconduct, or ethical violations:
-
Expression of Concern: Issued by the Editor-in-Chief if an investigation into alleged research misconduct or data unreliability is ongoing but inconclusive.
-
Article Retraction: Issued in accordance with COPE Retraction Guidelines if a published paper is found to contain severe flaws, data fabrication, or major plagiarism.
-
A formal Retraction Notice will be published and linked to the paper.
-
The original article PDF will remain in the journal archive to maintain the scientific record, but will be prominently watermarked with "RETRACTED" on every page.
