Focus and Scope

Focus

Jurnal Teknologi dan Manajemen Informatika (JTMI) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal dedicated to the advancement, dissemination, and practical application of knowledge in the fields of Information Technology and Information Systems Management. The journal publishes high-quality original research articles, theoretical frameworks, and practical implementation studies that bridge the gap between technological innovation and organizational management.

Scope

JTMI welcomes empirical, analytical, and applied research submissions that fall within, but are not limited to, the following key topics:

  • Management of Information Systems (MIS) Accepts research focusing on the planning, development, governance, and evaluation of information systems within organizations. Topics include IT governance, enterprise architecture, IS adoption models, IT risk management, digital transformation strategies, IT service management, and human-computer interaction (HCI) in managerial contexts.

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) Accepts studies on the development, optimization, and application of machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing (NLP), and autonomous algorithms to solve complex real-world problems. Submissions should demonstrate algorithmic novelties, performance evaluations, or innovative applications in technical or business environments.

  • Expert Systems Accepts research covering knowledge-based systems, rule-based reasoning, fuzzy logic systems, and inference engines. Manuscripts should emphasize practical domain application, knowledge representation models, system accuracy, and user interaction in fields such as diagnostics, control, and decision assistance.

  • Data Mining Accepts papers presenting computational methods for discovering patterns, trends, anomalies, and insights from large-scale structured or unstructured datasets. Covered areas include predictive analytics, text mining, clustering, classification algorithms, big data architectures, and data pre-processing techniques.

  • Decision Support Systems (DSS) Accepts research on models, frameworks, and software tools designed to support complex managerial and operational decision-making processes. Topics include Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) methods (e.g., AHP, TOPSIS, SAW, SAW-PROMETHEE), business intelligence dashboards, optimization algorithms, and group decision support systems.

  • Computer Vision Accepts articles addressing image processing, pattern recognition, object detection, image segmentation, video analytics, and spatial data reasoning. Submissions must present robust computational frameworks, algorithm comparisons, or practical deployments in areas such as automation, biometrics, surveillance, or medical imaging.

Manuscript Acceptance Criteria

To be accepted for review, manuscripts submitted to JTMI must meet the following criteria:

  • Present original research with clear theoretical or practical contributions.

  • Provide a rigorous research methodology supported by quantitative/qualitative data or experimental validation.

  • Demonstrate direct relevance to the journal's focus on information technology or management informatics.

  • Follow the journal's formatting guidelines and ethical requirements.
