Plagiarism Policy

EnJourMe (English Journal of Merdeka): Culture, Language, and Teaching of English is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and strongly opposes all forms of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, and other unethical publication practices.

All submitted manuscripts are screened for textual similarity using plagiarism detection software before entering the peer-review process. Similarity reports serve as an initial screening tool and are not used as the sole basis for editorial decisions. The editorial team evaluates each report carefully by considering the nature and source of the matched text, including but not limited to:

• the originality of the manuscript;
• the proportion and source of matched content;
• appropriate quotation and citation practices;
• overlap with the authors' previously published works (self-plagiarism);
• duplicate or redundant publication;
• reuse of data or figures without proper disclosure; and
• potential citation manipulation or other forms of publication misconduct.

Manuscripts containing significant unattributed overlap, duplicate publication, or other forms of plagiarism may be rejected or returned to the authors for clarification or revision, depending on the severity of the issue.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their work is original and that all sources are appropriately cited. They are encouraged to check their manuscripts using plagiarism detection software prior to submission and to use reference management software, such as Mendeley or Zotero, to ensure accurate citation and referencing in accordance with the journal's guidelines.
